| James Roper Acceleration series τ=Iα pencil on paper 35cm x 42cm 2010 |
I chose to use James Roper’s artwork τ=Iα from his Acceleration series as my precedent
drawing. The artist uses pencil on paper as his medium so to mirror his
technique I too only used pencil on paper. In my research I analysed how the bodies
and forms of images can be completely changed through simple folds and creases
in the paper. I chose to draw a razor in this style
because I liked the juxtaposition of crumbling and an object that is used to smoothen
skin.
