Story Board idea
I'm planning on making my main character be an action hero who's running through wellington so this idea would add value to my overall submission

Iron Curtain Advert
Group: Keely, Tiakitai & George
Our group task was to create a short advertisement for Iron Curtain: A industrial design company that specializes in hip and happening designer furniture. The company aims to target an audience ranging from people in their early to late 20's. Taking the age range into consideration we decided to try make our ad as comedic as possible. We also decided to keep Tiakitai youthful instead of make him look older to suggest to this age range that our furniture is for them. After researching and watching old/ current New Zealand adverts we found we were influenced by the Fresh Up ad where the guy's life is enhanced when he takes a sip of the product and wanted to use the same cut and paste montage style but with a modern chair as our selling product instead of a beverage. Our slogan was Comfort for every occasion as we had Tiakitai sitting happily and comfortably on the product in various differing settings.

Media Design is... 300 words
When I think of “a new way of seeing” I instantly was connected to the world of video games. Life can be hard and repetitive but the world regarding video games gives people relief from their own lives and allows them to temporarily view the world from a perspective of a superhero or even something less adventure related like a Family Guy or a Sims character. Video games make people happy, people get so into video games and the cyber world these days that you are able to create 3D Visual world lives for yourself online where you can interact with other people in anime form. The games don’t have to be action packed (e.g the Sims) but they still provide easy relief and entertainment for those who are bored with their own lives. I wanted to emulate this in my stop motion by having my character be so entrapped by her video game that for a brief 20 second moment she physically becomes her onscreen character and has to run around wellington city fighting her nemesis. I’m inspired to animate my stop motion to make it cartoon like rather than just leave her normal but dressed up as I think it’d be more effective to show that she is literally viewing her daily surroundings in a completely new way as a super villain if the eyes she's looking out of were literally animated.

The Sims

"From Electronic Arts has a historic following. Relatively new to the game, The Sims 3 is also available for the iPhone and saw heavy demand for the Sims 3 download torrent. Combined with heavy advertising and the ability to know interact and move around online like a more traditional MMORPG should spell success. Over 3.7 million copies of Sims 3 have been sold."
IMVU

"Chat with new and old friends in a customizable 3d chat room, create your own customized avatar and chat with friends while creating custom rooms and objects and even earning money. You even get one thousand free credits when you sign up. IMVU Inc. was created in 2004 and has 20 million registered users and $1 million in revenue each month. IMVU concurrent users have passed 105,000 players."

Inspiration images
I'm interested in doing a face or hand but instead of it being a solid block I'd like it to be textured with a pattern similar to the top middle picture to take advantage of the abilities of 3d printing

3-5 second practice video
I used iMovie to make this and can't figure out how to make it so it doesn't zoom in and out of every frame. Going to download a more professional programme like AE or Sony Vegas

Brainstorming
1.
This animation could be cool if I added it into the photo's. I wouldn't be allowed to paint onto the street but I could take my photo's and then Draw little animations on each frame. I especially like the Dinosaur part at about 6 minutes. It captures the kind of animation influenced by media design whilst adding painting and fine arts into my work
After hearing the music my actor could be seeing these animations running around while he/she walks.
I'd like to end it on mt Vic with a wide shot of wellington with animations jumping around

2.
This idea mixed with painting my people could be a nice link and contrast
3.
I really like the idea of painting my stop motion
I'm unsure whether or not I'd like to paint directly onto skin or take my photo's, print them and then paint onto them.
If I were to do it like this I'd add a lot more colour like and use Francoise Nielly: A French Painter as one of my artist models for my work
Francoise's work

Previous work of mine from my year 13 painting board that's inspired by Francoise, this is an aspect of how I would paint my animation

Image quality's bad but the jist of the idea's there
Alexa Meade
Alexa Meade is an example of successfully painting on people to make them look animated. She peoples exaggerated tones back onto them so they look like they're a canvas and then puts them in real settings like subways. This kind of idea would save me a lot of time whilst still looking how I'd like it to

Quick sketch of my idea
