School of design won't still won't let me upload my project so I don't really know what to do about that.

Vic Pop-In

Backgrounds & BuI coildings

I couldn't find a picture of the building so I used the one on sketch up instead. I originally wanted to have it rotating but it was too hard to get the tubes to come out of the roof as well ss have the building do a 360

What the tubes look like close up. The people just get lowered into them and pop out of the ceiling or the buildings

I couldn't get an actual picture with grey sky and the buildings in it so this is the backdrop for most of the stop motion parts so it looks like it's all in the sky

umbrellas

What the people look like holding umbrella's. They'll all hold the same type of one but when the gps is going they will flash red and black

Facebook

I've photo shoppe the girls facebook to look like the pictures from her umbrella are uploaded straight away

Silhouettes

I'm planning on using these little silhouette men to show how the people float above the canvas and go through tubes because It links to how I used them in the diagram and I think with a grey background it would look really cool

Makeshift homless umbrella

One of my characters is going to be homeless so I decided to make an umbrella appropriate for being homeless. I'm also going to get him to hold a blanket and wear old op shop looking clothes

Harijuku girls

I decided the Asian girl could be Harijuku Girls, I know we don't really have many here but for aesthetics I think it would look cool and different. If I could find someone to dress up like this I don't think it would be to hard to find a costume. All I'd need to do is go to wise buys and buy a lot of children's hair clips and ribbons and diamond like stickers and a quirky umbrella

Hispter umbrella

From googling and tumbr-ling hipsters all I saw were super feminine guys who has chucked on a beanie and a pair of glasses and taken a selfie. I think it would be hilarious for the hipster person to be doing exactly that, while they're waiting in traffic or whatever they should be posing for a selfie, and looking like a tortured soul.

I don't fully know what their umbrellas would look like yet but probably something tartan or knitted, really simple design though

Umbrella

Not that I know who I could get to be one but I think it could be cool to have an old lecturer with a ratty run down umbrella and crumbs all over his beard.

Umbrella's

It's be awesome to have lots of different types of people in my video and their character is defined by the type of umbrella they have. I like the idea of a classic Asian girl having a cute hello kitty or soft toy covered umbrella and a hipster having just a plain one cause their too cool to personalize their umbrella. I don't wanna offend people with the steryotypes though so I'll stay away from other races. I think nerd could be a good one to, just for passing the main person at an intersection

Integration

Pretty much finished the aesthetic just need to find a way to loop it and not have to click each petal

Flower pot change

Decided to go for a different flower pot as the other one was a bit scroungy. I like the back of this one as well as I think it contrasts with the black in the poppy and pansies middle

Leaves

I decided that I needed some green in my flower pot to even out the floridness. I've put them on a heavy rotate so that they are angled differently each time so it doesnt all flow the same way

Flower pot

I now need some colour variation and still would like leaves and vines in the piece
I think I need some blue flowers and maybe some more pink and red as yellow is pretty dominant at the moment.

Idea change

Instead of having a person you're making a head piece for it could be just a flower pot
This means I should change the dimensions of my piece and add stalks for the flowers

Merging the flowers and adding the buttons

I've figured out how to put the flowers all on the same page but the only way I can get them to work is by using keys to choose the flowers. I know you guys frown upon it but it really works for what I'm aiming for and makes it easier to use. I didn't ever want the flower selection to be too random so this works well for what I'm going for. I'm still going to explore making it all on one click but for the moment I like it like this

Detail

This is my Poppy flower development. I started off with just red and black but I took a deeper look at what they actually look like and decided that It would be cool if I went more into detail with them

Loops

With the loop I've discovered that as long as you hold the mouse down and move it the flower still shows and follows the mouse, I can't decide if this is a bad or good thing. If I want to add vines and leaves into it this could be cool but other than that I don't this it's too necessary

Layering and loops

I've added a loop so that when you hold down the mouse the petals repeat themselves. For this one I've added two different coloured petals opposite themselves and besides how the top looks a little iffy I think the layering of the petals could be something to play with and add excitement to the design.

Experimenting

With this set of flowers I'm trying to decide whether or not I need a stroke and mulitiple coloured petals. I think that having the petals two brighter tones and having a darker middle is effective. The middle colour being the same as the stroke also adds a little something extra I'm going to try and play round with stroke weights aswell

Colours

 With these I'm trying to experiment different sizes of the one flower. Along with the shape of the petals I've been changing the angle and frame rate to get different types of flowers

My first attempt at a flower. I've just used differently constructed ellipses to determine the petal sizes.

Starting again

My code was a bit complicated and I didn't know how to change aspects of it so I've decided to really learn how to code stuff from the reference page and re do my project in a cleaner more well put together way

I know you guys are against it but I really think I'm going to have to use keys to change the flowers as I don't know how else I'm going to do it.

I've started off by making a simple flower and putting a rotate effect on it so that petal by petal you click the whole flower.

Ideas for video

The lecture today gave me an idea for the film
I want to do a comedic one as I found alot of the ones Angela showed us a bit boring and plain
My idea is to do it kind of like an advert/short film where a the V-pad guy follows a person who's on his first day of uni and is late and has no idea where to go. The V-pad guy hands him a phone (I think i've decided to go with the phone is the transportation device when you stand on it) talks him through it and helps him get to class.

Inspiration

This is a really clever stop motion, I like how some of the parts are really swift and look like an actual film

Film ideas

Since mine's in the future and it would be impossible for me to actually make a prototype I think that I'd make it a stop motion like we did in the 101 class.
I'm going to photograph all the shots that I need of my person using the device in the air and also photograph the university and above the university so that I can mash them together and pretend that the device is transporting the person.

I'll video them getting ready to fly and then switch it into photographs

I really like the advertisement idea if we could make it slightly funny because I think it's an easy way to sell all the features of my device with out seeming too fake

Line of action

This is a basic idea of how I want my project to run
I don't want to use anything other than the mouse so I don't know how clicking is going to work twice but basically what you do is
-Click to plant the seed
-Keep holding down and moving the mouse to choose the colour of the seed, this determines the colour and type of flower you grow
-circle around the seed to act like you're watering it, this will make the flower grow
-Click and drag the petals to change how they look
-Start again with another flower
